The Alaska Aces defeated the Colorado eagles for a second straight night with a 5-0 shutout on Saturday at the Sullivan Arena.
After a scoreless first period, Alaska came out firing in the second. Chris Clackson netting a goal just 31 seconds into the frame, Zach Harrison and Brad Gorham credited with the assists. Two minutes later, Nick Mazzolini delivered a 5-hole goal off the pass from Garry Nunn, putting Alaska in a comfortable lead. Goals from Bobby Hughes and Cory Syvret gave Alaska a 4-0 advantage to start the 3rd period with.
In the final frame, Brandon Dubinski added a tally while Mark Guggenberger earned his third shutout of the season stopping all 27 Shots he faced.
These two teams are back in action New Years Eve at the Sullivan Arena, puck drops at 7pm.
