The Anchorage Glacier Pilots scored six runs in the 7th and 8th innings combined to knock off the Anchorage Bucs, 8-5, in the third and final game of the Mayor's Cup series. The victory gives the Pilots a 2-1 series victory and a 7th consecutive Mayor's Cup title dating back to 2006.
The Pilots trailed 5-2 going into the top half of the 7th inning. Axel Johnson, who drove in three runs, brought the Pilots to within 5-4 on a two-run triple to centerfield. The Pilots took the lead later in the inning on a groundout and a double steal.
Then in the 8th, Johnson and Micah Green each added RBI hits for the game's final margin.
Colin Ferguson led the Bucs with a pair of RBI doubles and Tanner Rust hit a two-run home run.
