The UAA men’s and women’s cross country teams dominated the field Saturday at the GNAC Conference Championship meet in Monmouth Oregon.  With a blistering time of 24:57.93 in the men’s 8K race senior Micah Chelimo won his second consecutive individual title and kept his season long undefeated streak alive.  Susan Tanui captured her own individual victory as she crossed the finish line of the 6K course in 20:37.29 to lead the way for the women’s program.

Ranked 5th Nationally the Seawolf ladies were just shy of a perfect score with 16 points.  Simon Fraser finished second with 61 points.  Four of the top five and five of the top six finishers represented UAA.  This is the third consecutive team title for the ladies program.

The UAA men, ranked 7th nationally, set a GNAC Championship meet record with a score of 23 points.  Western Washington was the runner up with 50 points.  For the men’s program the victory represents UAA’s fourth title in the past five years.

Next the Seawolves will travel to Ka’a’awa Hawaii on November 3rd for the NCAA Div. II West Regional Championships.
