ANCHORAGE, Alaska —
Bobby Hughes socred a goal and added two assists in the second period alone as the Alaska Aces rallied from a 3-0 deficit to tie and then defeat the Ontario Reign in a shootout, 4-3 on Wednesday night. The win enables the Aces to extend their unbeaten streak to 12 games with an ECHL-best record 29-8-1 overall.
Alaska scored its three second period goals in a span of 6 minutes, 36 seconds. Hughes tallied the equalizer, and assisted on goals by Alexandre Imbeault and Merit Waldrop.
In the shootout, the teams were even through five rounds. Jarred Smith struck the decisive blow in the sixth round.
