Central Washington University’s basketball team, ranked 14th in the country and first in the GNAC, was in the GNAC-ranked No. 2 University of Alaska Anchorage’s sights in a Saturday game at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.Early in the first, UAA’s Drew Robinson went inside to Taylor Rohde for a perfect pass -- but the Seawolves were down a point at the half.
Down by five late in the second, UAA made a push as Casey Robinson got NBA-caliber range on a triple, reducing CWU’s lead to 49-47.
The Seawolves took a one-point lead with two minutes to play, but the Wildcats would regain a two-point lead on foul shots. A last-second shot by Brandon Walker for the win didn’t go down, and the Seawolves suffered a 52-50 heartbreaker loss at home.
