Defending Yukon Quest champion Hugh Neff has checked in to the halfway point of the 2013 race with his sights set on back to back titles.  Neff arrived in Dawson City at 1:10 pm Yukon Time with 13 dogs, and the lead in the 1,000 mile sled dog race. 

Neff made the 99 mile run from Scroggie Creek in 14 hours, 50 minutes to overtake Allen Moore, who departed Scroggie Creek on Monday night 33 minutes ahead of the defending champion.  Moore eventually made it to the halfway point an hour and 59 mintes behind Neff, at 3:09 pm Yukon Time.

Dawson City is the official midway point of the Yukon Quest, where mushers and dogs receive a 36 hour layover before continuing on the trail.  By Dawson City, teams have traveled 451 miles and have 560 remaining until the finish line in Fairbanks.
