The Palmer football team stayed undefeated on a rain-soaked night, beating East Anchorage in the state large school quarterfinals, 13-6. The Moose improved to 9 and 0 this season and will take on either South Anchorage or West Valley in the semifinals.
James Nisbett rushed for 145 yards on 15 carries to lead Palmer on a wet night. After the teams were even at halftime, Luke Heun capped Palmer's first drive of the second half with a one yard touchdown run to make it 13-6. Diego Su'a Te'o led East with 75 yards on the ground, while Jakeil Bell scored the T-Birds only touchdown.
In the medium schools division semifinals, Homer defeated Thunder Mountain, 44-26. The Mariners will take on either Kodiak or Soldotna in the championship game.
