Service football head coach Jason Caldarera has decided to resign after 12 years of running the program.

Caldarera, 40, has been involved with Service football for the majority of his life, as a player and also as an assistant coach.

Under Caldarera, Service captured the 2008 Alaska State 4A title and again this past year with an undefeated season.

On retiring, Caldarera said, "It's truly a decision of my own free will.  I'm so proud of the team this year and how they finished with an undefeated season with a conference and a state championship, you couldn't ask for more."

Caldarera will continue as the Athletic Director of the Cougars.
