The UAA men's basketball team snapped their three game winning streak on Thursday, with a resounding 82-56 home win over Western Oregon. The Seawolves took control with a 19-2 run in the first half and led by 20 at the break. UAA improves to 2-3 in the GNAC, and 9-4 overall.
Kyle Fossman led the Seawolves with 21 points and sank five of seven from beyond the three point arc. Teancum Stafford added 11 points and a career-high five assists as UAA won without head coach Rusty Osborne, who was serving a one-game suspension for unsportsmanlike actions at the end of last Saturday's loss to Central Washington. Assistant coach Cameron Turner led the team in Osborne's place.
The Seawolf women dropped their third straight game, a 78-64 setback to Montana State-Billings. Sasha King shook off an ankle injury to score 19 points, while Jessica Madison added 14 for UAA. The smaller Seawolves were out-rebounded by 17 and lost for the first time in the last 11 head to head meetings. UAA drops to 1-3 in conference, 7-5 overall.
