The University of Alaska Anchorage volleyball team knew it had a tough road ahead when it set off for the GNAC Conference Challenge in Independence, Ore.In their first match of the tourney the Seawolves, ranked 24th in Division II, met 8th-ranked University of California San Diego.
The Seawolves fell to the Tritons in five sets, and all but the first were
decided by three points or less. Mackenzie Moss recorded 16 kills for UAA, while Jackie Matthieson added 15 and Lee Golden chipped in with 10. But it wasn't enough for the Seawolves, who fell to 2-1 on the season.
The Seawolves, who lost star middle blocker Courtney Lundberg to an injury in practice, also dropped a match against 10th-ranked Metro State.
