The University of Alaska Anchorage cross-country squad swept a season-opening meet far afield with Chaminade and Hawaii Pacific in Honolulu Saturday.

The 3rd-ranked Seawolves women boasted eight of the meet’s top 10 runners, led by Ruth Keino in 17 minutes, 17 seconds.

The men, ranked 16th in Division II, were paced by All-American Marko Cheseto's 14:26, with the Seawolves claiming each of the top five positions.

UAA stays on the islands to face BYU-Hawaii next week.
