ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
An upset of the second-ranked team in Div. II volleyball has done little to give UAA some national respect -- at least not yet.The Seawolves moved up only one spot -- to 23rd -- in the Div. II coaches’ poll after going 2-and-2 in the GNAC Conference Challenge.
Although the Seawolves did lose to a pair of Top-15 opponents, they also drilled then-No. 2 Cal State San Bernardino in three straight games. The Coyotes are now third.
At Dominican University in San Rafael, California Monday night, the Seawolves won their third straight, 25-21, 25-16 and 25-21.
Jackie Matthisien led the charge with 13 kills. McKenzie Moss came through with 15 digs.
UAA is 5-2 heading into tomorrow’s match at San Francisco State, also an NCAA tournament team last season.
