The University of Alaska Anchorage cross country team preseason rankings came out Friday morning, with the women at 6th and men 8th in the 2012 US Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association Preseason Ranking.
The women, who finished 6th at Nationals last November, are the top seeded GNAC and NCAA Division II West Region squad. Topping the chart for the women is Augustana, followed by Adams State and Grand Valley State.
For the men, UAA trails West Region competitor Chico State (3rd), while Adams State sits in 1st, followed by Western State.
The Seawolves begin the season at the Hawaii Pacific Invitational on Saturday in Ka'a'awa, HI.
