Chris Kamal made 14 saves, while Derek Docken and Scott Allen scored goals to lead the UAA hockey team to a 2-0 victory over Canisius to drop the puck on the 2012-13 campaign. The Seawolves improve to 6-0-2 in season openers under Dave Shyiak and haven't tasted defeat in the season's first game since the 2000-01 season.
UAA is aiming to win its own tournament for the second straight year. The Seawolves can accomplish that with a win Saturday over Air Force. The Falcons tied UAF, 3-3 in Friday's other tournament game.
