ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
The Alaska Anchorage men's basketball team defeated the Loyola Marymount Lions 83-77 to claim 4th in the Great Alaska Shootout.
Leading the way for the Seawolves was Teancum Stafford, with 19pts, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, and Colton Lauwers with 14 pts, 2 rebounds and 5 assists.
The Seawolves jumped to an early 12-1 lead on 4 straight 3 pointers, and led 35-29 at halftime. The Lions bounced back to tie it 54-54 with 8:40 remaining, but consecutive 3's from Kyle Fossman helped control the board for the remainder of the game.
The game marks the UAA program's 55th all-time win over a Division I program, and matches the program high tournament finish of 4th.
