The UAF hockey team won its third straight Governor's Cup by defeating UAA, 3-1 and then prevailing in a tie-breaking shootout over the Seawolves on Saturday night.  Each team won on home ice during the two game series, necessitating a shootout round, won by the Nanooks.

UAF has now won 11 of the 19 Governor's Cup series in history.

In the actual game itself, Andy Taranto scored with 90 seconds left in the second period to give UAF a 2-1 lead.  Adam Henderson made it 3-1 at the 5:06 mark of the third period.  Daniel Naslund scored UAA's lone goal.  The Seawolves were outshot 31-15.
