The UAF Nanooks claimed game 1 of the 2 game series against UAA Friday night at the Carlson Center.
Defeating the Seawolves 2-1 in OT, UAF was first to put numbers on the board in the second period when Garrick Perry scored off the pass from Tyler Morley.
UAA equalized in the 3rd when Matt Bailey connected with Alex Gellert. But UAF would steal momentum back, when Cody Kunyk nailed the game winner at 2:50 into OT.
UAA hosts game 2 of the series Saturday night, 7pm at the Sullivan Arena.
