ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

Through two games, the 21st annual Governor's Cup series is all square.  UAF staged a rally from two goals down in the third period to stun UAA late on Saturday night, 5-4 to even the series at one win apiece.  The series resumes when UAF hosts the final two games on March 7th and 8th.

Nanook senior Cody Kunyk buried the game winning goal with 2:47 remaining to punctuate a UAF come from behind effort in a see-saw game.

UAF scored the first two goals of the game, but then UAA rallied to take a 4-2 lead on Blake Leask's first goal of the season at 3:30 of the third period.  But that left enough time for UAF heroics.

Marcus Basara pulled the Nanooks to within one at the 4:19 mark.  His goal was followed by Colton Beck's equalizer at 12:05, setting the stage for Kunyk's game winner.

Scott Allen scored his 10th goal of the season for UAA, while Andrew Petit and Blake Tatchell also found the back of the net for the Seawolves.

With the win, the Nanooks also snap a five-game losing streak and claim two points in the WCHA standings.  UAF improves to 3-7-0 in conference play ( 9th place ) while UAA drops to 4-6-2 in league action ( tied for 6th place ).
