Young, 29, played for Strasbourg in France earlier this season. The White Rock, BC native turned pro in 2005-06 after spending two seasons with the University of New Brunswick. He was named the CIS ‘Clare Drake’ Rookie of the Year in 2003-04. He has been an important part of two championship teams, one in 2005-06 with the Nijmegen Devils in Netherlands and last season with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. He was also named Netherlands Best Defenseman in 2010-11 with Eindhoven Kemphanen where he tallied 17 goals and 48 assists in 40 games.
Young is expected to be in the line-up tomorrow when the Thunder host the Rapid City Rush. To make room, defenseman T.J. Miller has been waived.
