The UAA men's basketball team shot 57 percent in the second half to pull away from rival UAF, 96-76 in Saturday's Great Northwest Athletic Conference opener for both schools.  The Seawolves have won 16 straight meetings against the Nanooks, the longest streak by either side in series history.

Brian McGill led the UAA sharpshooters with 29 points and 10 assists, Travis Thompson added 20 points on four three-pointers, and Christian Leckband put in a season high 12 points.  UAA improves to 6-4 overall, while UAF drops to 4-4. 

McGill's night included an 11 for 12 effort from the free throw line.  Teamcum Stafford pulled down a game high 12 rebounds.
