ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

Tommy Mele and Brad Richard each scored twice in a span of 3 minutes, 33 seconds in the second period as the Aces took down the Bakersfield Condors, 5-0 on Saturday night for their 6th consecutive win after an opening night loss.

Following a scoreless opening frame, Alaska outshot Bakersfield 18-2 in the decisive frame.  Richard opened the scoring at 1:57 of the second on assists by Evan Trupp and Peter Sivak.  Richard and Mele alternated goals twice in the scoring flurry, while Sivak had a pair of assists in the game, giving him seven points in the last two contests.

Brendan Connolly added the Aces' fifth goal of the night in the third period, his second of the year.  Laurent Brossoit collected the shutout with 16 saves in his first ECHL start.

Alaska and Bakersfield finish their three game series Sunday afternoon at 3:00.
