5.18 magnitude earthquake shakes Fairbanks

A magnitude 5.18 earthquake rattled the Fairbanks area at 4:37 p.m., according to the Alaska Earthquake Information Center.

The center of the quake was about 37 miles northwest of Fairbanks.
