The Alaska Aces held off the Utah Grizzlies 2 - 1 in a shootout thriller Saturday evening at the Sullivan Arena.

Scoring first was Utah's Tysen Dowzak at 5:33.  The Aces were unable to score but still outshot the Grizzlies 16-6.

After a scoreless second period, Alaska's scoring attempts finally produced a goal from Bryan Miller on the power play.  With neither team able to net one again, the game was sent into OT and then a shootout.

Nick Mazzolini was the only one able to score, giving Alaska the advantage as Gerald Coleman stopped all of Utah's shots.

The Aces pick up again next Thursday, January 12th, hosting the Stockton Thunder.
