Having last season's MVP serving the second half of a two-game suspension would not normally be considered the recipe for a team to post a season-high in goals. Ethan Cox did a pretty good Wes Goldie impression on Friday night.
Cox tallied his first professional hat trick, his first three goals of the season as the Aces beat the Ontario Reign, 8-4 to begin a three-game series. Zach Harrison and Steve Ward each had a goal and an assist for Alaska, while Bryan Miller notched three assists.
The Aces improve to 8-3-0 overall.
