The Seawolf women's basketball team has added some local talent for the 2014-15 season in the form of guard Tara Thompson.  A multi-sport standout at Dimond High School in Anchorage, Thompson is a late addition to the team.

During the 2014 Cook Inlet Conference tournament Thompson displayed her offensive talents exploding in a game against South Anchorage scoring 42-points.  Thompson was named the MVP of that conference tournament she was also a First Team All-State selection as a senior.

In a press release from the school Wednesday, head coach Ryan McCarthy said "Tara is a terrific shooter and a superior all-around athlete."  

The 5'7" guard joins four other newcomers for the upcoming season she is also the 7th Alaskan to join the team.
