Iditarod musher Karin Hendrickson hit by vehicle, says she broke her back and leg

Four-time Iditarod finisher Karin Hendrickson suffered a broken back and broken leg after a vehicle struck her dog team just before 8 p.m. Tuesday near Willow, according to the musher's Facebook page and borough officials.

UAA Hockey Defeats #17 NMU 4-0

UAA hockey bounced back from a 1-0 Friday night loss to defeat #17 Northern Michigan 4-0 Saturday at the Sullivan Arena.

The Seawolves were first to strike at 12:47 in the 1st courtesy of Tad Kozun. The Seawolves were able to build momentum in the final minute of the frame, Dylan Hubbs put UAA up 2-0 and less than 30 seconds later Austin Sevalrud buried another to give the Seawolves a 3-0 lead.

The UAA hockey team was shut out for the third time in the last five games in a 1-0 defeat to 17th-ranked Northern Michigan on Friday night at Sullivan Arena.
