ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

The Soldotna Stars claimed their 6th Championship since 2006 by winning the medium schools state title Saturday, with a 56-49 victory over Juneau Douglas.

While the Stars were first to find the end zone when Jake Kooly punched in the 1 yard rushing TD, their 6-0 advantage would be the last time they held the lead until the final score.

Juneau managed 4 touchdowns before Soldotna would find the endzone again.

Soldotna's quarterback Colton Young threw a 5 yard TD pass to Brooks Furlong under extreme pressure, making the score 28-21 Juneau as time expired in the half.

After both teams managed 21 points in the 3rd, two unanswered Soldotna TD's in the 4th from Drew Gibbs and the QB Young would bring the Stars the victory.

This is the 4th consecutive undefeated season for Soldotna.
