ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

UAA sophomore Katelynn Zanders has become the third Seawolf volleyball player in history to be chosen for an All-American team.  Zanders, a 5'9" outside hitter out of South Anchorage High School, earned Second Team All-Division II honors by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Zanders finished third in the GNAC this season in kills per game, totaling 13 double-doubles, and four matches of at least 20 kills.  She was selected GNAC Player of the Week three times.

She is one of only eight sophomores named to either the first or second team and among 28 players total.  

Zanders joins former Seawolves Rhea Cardwell ( 2008 ) and Robyn Burton ( 2011 )  as the only UAA players named to an All-American team.  All three have been second-team honorees
