The Phoenix Suns finalized the signing of forward P.J. Tucker to a multiyear contract on Wednesday.

The team did not announce financial terms, but previous reports puts the deal at three years and $16.5 million.

"His new contract fulfills one of our most important goals for this summer." Suns president of basketball operations Lon Babby said.

Tucker, a restricted free agent, started 81 games for the Suns last season and averaged 9.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals.

"P.J. is one of the most rugged competitors in the entire league," Suns general manager Ryan McDonough said. "We love his passion and his fire. We are happy that he will remain in a Suns uniform for the foreseeable future."
