The Tennessee Titans signed quarterback Dominique Davis to the roster on Tuesday to provide depth at the position for their final preseason game.

Starter Jake Locker is not expected to play much Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings and backup Charlie Whitehurst has a sore right pinkie finger. That left rookie Zach Mettenberger as the only other available quarterback and prompted the signing of Davis.

The Titans are expected to keep Locker, Whitehurst and Mettenberger on the roster for the regular season.

Davis was waived in June by the Falcons after two seasons in Atlanta. He played in one game for the Falcons last season.
