Four area high school soccer players received first team all-state honors as selected by the South Dakota High School Activities Association boys’ soccer coaches association.
Senior Braden LeGrand and junior Miah Wills of Aberdeen Central received first-team honors, along with senior Kapaw Htoo and junior Nikolai Pyatt of Groton. Aberdeen beat Groton 2-1 in the third-place game at the first-ever SDHSAA-sponsored state soccer tournament at Swisher Field in Aberdeen. The tourney was held from Oct. 4-5. Sioux Falls Christian, which had four players on the first team all-state squad, won the state title.
