GUEST COLUMN: Blaming the two-party system
After federal elections costing some $6 billion, resulting in a return to what pundits are calling the “status quo” in Washington, one might revisit the question of how well our major political parties are serving the country. There have been several recent books on the subject, including “The Party Is Over” by Mike Lofgren; Jesse Ventura’s “DemoCrips and ReBloodlicans,” and Mickey Edwards’ “The Parties versus the People.”
