  1. Orlando Fringe review: 'James Judd's Funny Stories'

James Judd has regaled Fringegoers before with his personal travails, whether battling weight issues ("Fat Camp" or hooked on soap operas ("7 Sins"). He's back with "James Judd's Funny Stories," and though the title doesn't lie -- the stories are filled with his observational humor -- they don't quite have the snap of his previous efforts. The biggest flaw -- with the exception of the last of his four tales, the strongest -- is that none builds to a satisfying end.

  3. Orlando Fringe review: 'Madame PeeVira: Dark Lady'

Bizarre situations and characters abound in Dulce Art Works Inc.’s “Madame PeeVira: Dark Lady.” The zany production is inspired by Cher’s classic, ‘70s hit “Dark Lady,” a song about a fortune teller stealing someone’s man.

  5. Orlando Fringe review: 'Dead Body Friendship'

A first date goes from unpredictable to kinky to horribly wrong while testing the bond of three friends in Gabrielle Brown’s comedy “Dead Body Friendship.” Nerdy comic-book and sci-fi fan Ben (Tim Walczak) lets his buddy Franklin (Brandon Lopez) set him up on a date with sexy, pill-popping Angelica (Kimberly Bonny). Ben and Angelica are about to get hot and heavy with peanut butter in his bedroom -- but she dies before the sticky situation can ensue. Ben panics and calls his pals Franklin and Farrah (Madison Graham) for help -- but his chain-smoking landlady (Stefanie Lebowitz, with Busch beer cans as curlers in her hair) has seen too much.

  7. Orlando Fringe review: 'Little Lady'

Don't think  you can watch Sandrine Lafond's "Little Lady" without investing some thought. Probably a lot more thought than you want to.

  9. Orlando Fringe review: 'Classically Demented: A Darkened Fable of Storybook Characters You Thought You Knew'

In a year of zombie-themed Fringe shows, the undead even make their way into "Classically Demented" a fairy-tale pastiche by Yow Dance. Artistic director Eric Yow, who appears as the (evil, of course) queen, has crafted a show that niftily mixes modern movement, more than a little classical technique and a dash of theme-park magic into a delightfully wacky and engaging whole.

  11. Orlando Fringe review: 'Bursting Into Flames by Martin Dockery'

When you follow a Fringe artist through several years of shows, it's a pleasure to see the performer stretch artistically or surprise -- especially when the result is as entertaining as Martin Dockery's latest creation, "Bursting into Flames."

  15. Orlando Fringe review: 'Voice Activated'

There’s an element of sentimentality to Toxic Audio’s return to the Fringe Festival, where the Orlando a cappella group embarked in 1998 on a career that would take them to showrooms in Las Vegas and an award-winning off-Broadway run.

  17. Orlando Fringe review: 'The Monkey King'

Viet Nguyen provided insight into his Vietnamese heritage and an example of multiangle storytelling in "Reincarnation Soup" at the 2010 Fringe Festival. In "The Monkey King," he paints a bleaker picture of modern-day Vietnam -- but one that is no less absorbing as characters interact around the framework of the Chinese legend of  The Monkey King.

  21. Orlando Fringe review: 'Connected: An Interactive Experience'

"Hello everyone," the soothing voice says in your ear -- directly into your ear, as it happens, for at "Connected," each audience member wears a pair of earbuds. It's all a part of the interactive theme in this unusual show that combines theater, modern dance and a therapy session.
