After the coffee. Before seeing if "Arrested Development" is still great. The Skinny: Like most journalists, I can be a little jaded at times. But in reality my job is not so bad. Tonight I'll get to go watch new episodes of "Arrested Development."...

  7. Stylin' With Your Stylus

Some time ago, I read an article on Huffington Post about the effects of handwriting on the brain. Turns out, your elementary school teachers weren't evil taskmasters when assigning all of those written assignments - they wanted to make you smarter! 9. News of the Weird: Electric Chastity Belt

To counter the now-well-publicized culture of rape in India, three engineers in Chennai said in March that they are about to send to the market women's anti-rape lingerie, which will provide both a stun-gun-sized blast of electricity against an aggressor and a messaging system sending GPS location to family members and the police about an attack in progress. After the wearer engages a switch, anyone touching the fitted garment will, said one developer, get “the shock of his life” (even though the garment's skin side would be insulated). The only marketing holdup, according to a March report in The Indian Express, is finding a washable fabric.

  11. Is there a portion of sound reasoning in 'baggy pants' law?

No Some say it takes a village to raise a child. Others, it seems, believe it takes a rash of absurd laws and penalties to simply pound a kid's sophomoric tendencies into remission. This is apparently the case in Terrebonne Parish, La., where the...
