Johnny Damon returned to Baltimore to haunt the Orioles again Thursday night.

And after the 17-year veteran did so, he wondered aloud why the Orioles didn't want him to play at Camden Yards -- a place he's made his personal playground  -- on a regular basis.

Damon's three-run homer off Wei-Yin Chenin the second-inning proved to be all Cleveland needed in the Orioles' 7-2 loss to the Indians on Thursday. But Orioles fans are used to Damon's success in Baltimore.

It was Damon’s 22nd career homer at Camden Yards, most of any visiting ballpark. He is a lifetime .313 (149-for-476) hitter at Oriole Park and he's hit more homers (33) and has more RBIs (128) against the Orioles than any other major league team.

In the offseason, as the Orioles looked for a DH, they considered Damon. Instead, he signed with the Indians in mid-April. After the game, Damon himself wondered why the Orioles didn't make a harder push.

"I've been lucky a few times here," Damon said of playing in Camden Yards. "That's why going into the offseason, after Tampa Bay signed [former Oriole] Luke Scott, I thought these guys would come and get me. Obviously, they decided against it and that's OK with me.”
