Theater production
The Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre closes its 47th season of "Theatre Under the Stars" with "Xanadu" at 8 p.m. Thursdays-Sundays through Sept. 2. "Xanadu" follows the journey of Clio, one of the Greek muses, who descends from Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, Calif., to inspire a struggling artist. Tickets are $20. Auditions
The Annapolis Youth Chorus will hold auditions for the coming concert season from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 18, at St. Anne's Church, 199 Duke of Gloucester St. in Annapolis. Singers will be asked to sing the first verse of "America the Beautiful" and one other prepared piece — a folk song, Broadway show tune or hymn. Depending on ability level, singers may also be asked to read a simple melodic and/or rhythmic line. Each audition lasts about 10 minutes. Call for artists
Benfield Gallery invites artists ages 18 and older to enter its annual fall juried exhibition being held Oct. 25-Nov. 17 at the gallery, 485 Jumpers Hole Road in Severna Park. Lighthouse tours
Tours of the Thomas Point Lighthouse continue Saturday, Aug. 18 and Sept. 8. There are three tours a day, at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m., and visitors can learn about how lighthouse keepers lived, other lighthouses on the Chesapeake Bay and how many are still around. Coaching clinic

Pops concert
The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra performs its annual Lexus Pops in the Park concert at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 2 at Quiet Waters Park, 600 Quiet Waters Park Road in Annapolis. Admission to the park is free for the concert. Concessions will be available, and visitors may bring food, blankets and lawn chairs. Alcohol is not allowed. Arts fundraiser
Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts will host its annual fundraising event, "Arts Alive," from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sept. 7. The event raises funds for the hall's year-round arts-related programs. "An Evening in Paris" takes place in a tent on the front lawn and will feature silent and live auctions, a raffle and musical entertainment. There will also be tasting stations featuring signature dishes and drinks from area restaurants, caterers and hotels. Tickets are $150; sponsorships are $1,500, $3,000, $5,000 and $10,000, which includes tickets for 10 people and numerous recognition opportunities.

Concert series
The U.S. Army Field Band continues its annual Summer Concert Series with The Volunteers performing pop/rock music at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Constitution Park on Fort Meade. Reunion notice
A half-century has passed since Baltimore City College graduated more than 600 young men in 1962, and a reunion is being planned for Oct. 13. Organizers are trying to contact every class member.
