Volunteers, 18 and older, are needed as coordinators and assistants to help with ongoing programs and special events, including membership development, volunteer recruitment, event planning, ensemble development, fundraising, sponsorships, press releases, publicity, publications, resources directory and website updates. Light House Shelter
Volunteers 18 and older are needed for a variety of duties associated with the food program, children's program, cleaning and maintenance, office and administration, adult education programs and the overnight homeless program. Pro bono professionals are needed to serve the shelter and its clients with skills such as accounting, medicine, law and carpentry. Hours are flexible, and training is provided. Plant some trees
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation and partner groups need volunteers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 3 to plant 1,000 trees at the old Naval Academy dairy farm in Gambrills. The event is suitable for adults, families and community groups. Dress for the weather. Equipment and refreshments will be provided. Registration is required.
