An 83-year-old man said goodbye to his wife as he left his Southwest Side home yesterday and hasn't been seen since, police said today in a missing person alert seeking the public's help in finding him.
Juan Banuelos left the house on the 2700 block of South Karlov Avenue about 9 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
He often likes to have breakfast at La Chaquita Grocery store at 27th Street and Pulaski Road and sit on the bench in front of Eli Whitney School at 27th and Komensky Avenue, but he hasn't been seen at his favorite places, police said.
The alert describes Banuelos as Hispanic, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 and 170 pounds, with gray hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. He last was seen wearing tan pants, black shoes, a black-and-brown shirt, and a baseball hat, and he uses a cane when he walks.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Harrison Area special victims unit at 312-746-9259.
