The Half Door in Hartford hosts its 9th Annual Beer & Game Dinner Nov. 12, pairing six courses of exotic wild game with craft beers. The event starts at 6:30 p.m.
The menu:
Amuse Bouche: Wild Scottish hare "stew" on melba toast paired with Baladin al-Iksir.
Appetizer: Asahi-brined quail legs with soy infused guava compote and toasted sesame oil paired with Birra del Borgo/Dogfish Head My Antonia.
Soup: Pumpkin bisque with rattlesnake and black bean fritters and habanero coulis paired with Thornbridge Halcyon.
Sandwich: Braised wild boar with Tasso ham, pinto bean succotash, and Cabot Reserve cheese melted on warm baguette paired with Picobrouwerij Alvinne Melchior.
Entree: Almond-crusted South Texas antelope medallions, Maytag blue cheese risotto, wild mushrooms and cranberry gastrique paired with BFM La Quatorze.
Dessert: Mincemeat pie of Axis venison with sweet cornbread crust and lemon thyme sorbet paired with Hanssens Kriek.
