F. Fisher, 89, of Salisbury, died peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md., after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born Nov. 8, 1922, in Elk Lick Township, she was the daughter of the late Lewis C. and Sarah E. (Hutzell) Broadwater. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Fisher, in 1961; three brothers, Ray, Willard and Junior Broadwater and one sister, Ilene Fuller. Mrs. Fisher was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Salisbury and the Ladies Auxiliaries of the following organizations: Salisbury American Legion, Salisbury VFW, Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department and the Meyersdale Medical Center. She was an avid bowler. Surviving are two daughters, Judy K. Hutzell and husband, Ray E. “Butch”, Jr., Doylestown, Ohio; Diana L. Detrick and husband, Kenneth, Springs; one sister, Freda Robertson, Salisbury; 6 grandchildren, Donald Durst, Robert Hutzell, James Hutzell, Lorie Adams, Eric Detrick and Amy Jo Thomas and nine great-grandchildren, Jenna, Andrew, Dean, Trey, Connor, Carson, Callie, Brody and Brayden. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. on Tuesday, from 4 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at Springs Mennonite Church on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Owen Guengerich officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in Salisbury Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the love and care lavished on Edna by the staff at Goodwill Mennonite Home.
