Miller's tavern

"There are going to be many residents that are descended from this guy that don't even know it," Nuzzo said.

Fellow Folmont resident Ron Sehn said he just hopes someone comes forward with photographs, pictures or additional information about the tavern. The organization can be contacted emailing folmont@verizon.net or writing to P.O. Box 151, Central City, PA, 15926.

"There are so many things that need to be brought to light," Sehn said.

Out of the dark

The fact that Nuzzo would like to someday have the tavern remembered with a replica should come as no surprise to anyone who knows him.

Nuzzo bought his home from Leo McDermitt and another individual in 1972, forming The Wilderness Club organization that became the basis for the Folmont Property Owners Association.  This group is located across Shade Township, Stonycreek Township and Allegheny Township as well as Juniata Township in Bedford County

"We decided to preserve these historic treasures for future generations by reserving the area as an historic park within the future community of Folmont," Nuzzo said.

Nuzzo — a Pittsburgh native — said it all started when he and his wife were able to buy large tracts of land in this region.
