D5 golf postponed
The District 5 Golf Tournament scheduled for today has been postponed and rescheduled for Thursday at Great Cove GC in McConnellsburg.
Piney Run scramble
GARRETT — Cary Nider, Don Engle and Bill Hajel shot a 2-under par to win the Piney Run senior golf scramble on Monday.
Nailing down second place (1-under) on a card-off was the team of Dave Williams, Owen Bower and Jack Johns.
Jim Drake won the 50/50. Bower was closest to pin on No. 9 and Robert Harper sank the longest putt on No. 5.
Kenny Kemp, Ernie Smith, John Ralston and Harper teamed up to shoot 2-under par to win the afternoon scramble. Second place at 1-under went to the team of Tom Lindeman, Jake Knotts, Gary Miller and Barry Yoder.
Yoder was CTP on hole No. 9 and Harper sank the longest putt on No. 5.
The next senior scramble tees off at 10 a.m. Thursday.
