North Carolina A&T (6-4) beat William and Mary in Greensboro, though the Tribe’s Emily Correal scored a career-high 30 points on 10-of-16 shooting and Janine Aldridge scored 21.
The Tribe (2-7) led 71-62 before the Aggies zoomed past. A&T was paced by JaQuayla Berry’s 29 points and nine rebounds.
Hampton 64, Evansville 45
Kenia Cole had 16 points as Hampton (8-4) took advantage of 27 Evansville turnovers to win the consolation game of the Toledo Invite.
JoNiquia Guilford, a transfer from ODU, added 14 points and six rebounds for HU, while Nicole Hamilton had 10 points and six assists.
HU led 25-13, saw the Purple Aces (2-9) cut the lead, then began the second half with a 9-2 surge for a 41-26 advantage.
Alabama 73, Virginia 70, 2 OTs
Alabama (7-3) outlasted Virginia in double overtime in Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Tide’s Shafontaye Myers banked in a tying 3-pointer with 1.1 seconds left in the first overtime, extending the game. In the second overtime, Alabama hit four free throws in the final 15 seconds.
Kelsey Wolfe led the Cavaliers (6-4) with 16 points, and Telia McCall grabbed 12 rebounds. The Tide’s Daisha Simmons netted 22 points.
VCU 64, NJIT 52
Robyn Park scored 14 of her 20 points in the second half as host VCU (6-6) beat the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
JMU 65, American 49
Freshman Precious Hall scored a season-high 16 points and Kirby Burkholder had 15 points and 11 rebounds as host James Madison (4-6) ended a three-game slide by beating American.
