  1. Ship profile: Norwegian Majesty

The <i>Norwegian Majesty's</i> nine decks of intimate settings and lively atmosphere is popular with many local cruise fans who will be sad to see it make its final sailing from Baltimore in August. In 2008, <a href="http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/fleet/shipInformation.html?shipCode=MAJESTY"target=new>Norwegian Cruise Lines</a> sold the ship to an operator in Europe, where it will be repositioned later this year. In the mean time, it continues to be operated by NCL. The ship, which sails 5-day and 7-day itineraries from Baltimore, is a good choice for those who enjoy smaller cruises. The <i>Majesty</i> offers lots of dining and entertainment options, but without the grand theme decor of larger cruise ships. The cabins are comfortable and well-furnished and the ship features five bars and nine lounges as well as live entertainment. The ship typically spends three days in port in Bermuda, giving you more time to enjoy dancing, shopping, and relaxing on the island's pink sand beaches.

  11. Classism making a comeback on cruise ships

    Special to the Chicago Tribune
One-class cruising could be bound for extinction. If Adam Goldstein, president of Royal Caribbean International, speaks for the future of cruising, traveling aboard ship may one day be akin to flying the unfriendly skies, meaning you'll sail by class in...

You pay thousands in deposits for a trip and then get laid off. Now what? If your travel insurer, cruise or airline company offers a so-called job-loss guarantee, you might get your money back. Or not, depending on the policy.

  23. Q&A: Choosing a dinner seating time

<b>I have been on five cruises with two ship companies, and I have asked as soon as I've made the reservation for early seating for dinner. The request was honored on only one cruise. The others were for the late seating. (I didn't know this until I received my tickets.) What would you suggest to ensure an early dining time on my next cruise?</b>
