Nadya Suleman

Nadya Suleman, also known as Octomom, delivered eight babies on January 26, 2009. Suleman had six embryos implanted in 2008, and two split into twins. The embryos were left over from a previous in vitro fertilization treatment. The octuplets were born two months early, weighing 1 pound, 8 ounces to 3 pounds, 4 ounces each.

She is the single mother of six other children, also conceived using IVF. Suleman lives in California with her mother in a three-bedroom house that is in pre-foreclosure as of February 2009. Suleman has no job and relies on government assistance.
