15. Wal-Mart promises to add $50 billion in American-made merchandise

Wal-Mart has promised to add $50 billion in American-made merchandise to its offerings over the next 10 years. The promise comes amid criticism of the company's overseas sources using cheap labor, as well as a fatal fire in a Bangladesh factory that made clothing for retailers including Wal-Mart. And there's more: Wal-Mart says it will hire any honorably discharged U.S. military veteran who wants a job within 12 months of his or her discharge date. The company expects to hire 100,000 vets over the next five years. [Yahoo]
