    It didn't take long for Arthur Shaw (Alan Alda) to fleece investors out of countless millions. Transforming Shaw's Ponzi scheme into "Tower Heist" proved a bit more time-consuming. Envisioned six years ago by Eddie Murphy as an all-black take on "Ocean's...

  5. New ABC comedy to help channel 'Man Up!'

    LOS ANGELES - Although it may seem a classic case of grasping at straws, the one positive thing that can be said about this fall season is that it has been equally tough on both genders. While female characters revisited the Madonna/whore trope, cramming themselves into girdles (“Pan Am,” “The Playboy Club”) and dialogue seemingly lifted from a Judd Apatow-inspired video game (“Whitney, “2 Broke Girls”), male characters revealed their inner morons, getting lost looking for the cheese aisle (“Up All Night”), refusing to acknowledge the 20th, much less 21st century (“Last Man Standing”), and talking like Judd Apatow characters while playing actual video games (“Man Up!”).

  11. Tower Heist

    I&rsquo;ve done at least 20 movie reviews where I talk about <em>Ferris Bueller&rsquo;s Day Off.</em> Sometimes that&rsquo;s because they are Matthew Broderick films, but usually it&rsquo;s when they are teen comedies that lift things from Bueller (and they&rsquo;re never done as well).

  13. Film review: 'Tower Heist' is just good, dumb fun

    "Tower Heist" is one of the better dumb movies I've seen lately. &nbsp;
    Special to The Herald-Mail
    "Tower Heist" is one of the better dumb movies I've seen lately.   It's good for some cheap laughs, which is fine because it promises nothing more than cheap laughs. A movie like this will never be mistaken for anything of legitimate high quality, but it...

  17. 'Tower Heist' actually has its eyes on your wallet

    The thieves in <strong>"Tower Heist"</strong> may have a skyscraper-dwelling rich guy as their target, but the movie itself is reaching into your wallet. It's such a crassly commercial action-comedy that you won't be surprised to learn that its <em>tower</em>ing aspirations only involve box office gross.
