Police have arrested a man they say exposed himself and masturbated for his incarcerated girlfriend, and other female inmates, outside of a West Michigan jail.
The 47-year-old Norton Shores man was found parked in his SUV outside of the Michael E. Kobza Hall of Justice, at 990 Terrace in Muskegon.
Guards became suspicious around 4:20 a.m. when the vehicle, which was in a parking lot facing the jail, was spotted on surveillance cameras. Officers “zoomed” the cameras in to get a closer look at what was going on, and say they discovered the man was masterbating so his girlfriend and other female inmates could watch him.
According to police, county deputies had seen the vehicle in the lot on previous nights.
when confronted in the lot, officers discovered the suspect was wearing a blue jumpsuit and nothing else. The man denied masturbating when the deputies confronted him, but officers retrieved items from the man's car that led them to believe he had, after a search of the SUV.
The suspect's 29-year-old girlfriend is lodged at the jail for retail fraud, according to the county prosecutor's office.
The suspect's arraignment is still pending in Muskegon County 60th District Court.
