Mary P. Strite, 91, a resident of the Mennonite Home in Maugansville, Md., and formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at 6:25 a.m. at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.
Born Aug. 23, 1921, in Sykesville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Irvin L. and Fannie A. (Martin) Strite.
She was a member of Millers Mennonite Church near Leitersburg, Md.
She is survived by one brother, Landis Strite of Hagerstown; a twin sister, Martha I. Strite, a resident of the Mennonite Home in Maugansville; several nieces and nephews; and a number of great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Williams; and brothers, Aden Strite, Elmer Strite and infant brother, Ira Strite.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Millers Mennonite Church near Leitersburg, with the Millers Mennonite Church Ministry officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour before the service at the church.
The family requests that flowers be omitted.
