Richard Allen “Dick” Kittle Sr., 93, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Julia Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown, Md.
Born May 16, 1919, in Elkins, W.Va., he was the son of the late Waitman Vernon and Dicie Dell Himes Kittle.
He was employed by Potomac Edison Co., at the R. Paul Smith power plant, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church. He also was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Men and the adult fellowship.
He was a member of AARP and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local, Williamsport.
He was on the town planning commission for Williamsport.
Survivors include wife, Mary Emma Smith Kittle, married for 67 years, of Williamsport; daughter, Debbie J. Kittle of Williamsport; son, Richard A. Kittle Jr. of Nashua, N.H.; son, Robert N. Kittle Sr. of Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was predeceased by his brother, Hayward W. Kittle.
The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Friday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Williamsport United Methodist Church, Williamsport, on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Susan Boehl officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
